Swank Pets Dog Blog

Ahhh, my first entry into the Swankpets Dog Blog. It took me a while to get around to setting this up, but I finally got it done and here it is. Within this blog, I hope to combine both informative and entertaining posts so people can learn and read about interesting topics. My goal is to write about anything that relates to dogs, from health care tips, training, to anything interesting in the news at the moment.  I’ll also throw in some posts about doggy fashion and accessories such as small dog clothes, small dog carriers, small dog beds, and designer dog collars.  Furthermore, since my experience has been mostly with toy dog breeds, mainly Yorkies, you’ll probably see more posts pertaining to small dogs. But that doesn’t mean I discriminate. I just happen to know a lot about Yorkies. If you guys ever have any questions about Yorkies, feel free to email me at: mike@swankpets.com

So I’d like to start by introducing myself. My name is Mike Hsiao, I’m 27 years old, and my fiance and I love dogs. We currently have a two and half year old Bichon/Poodle mix named Muffin, and 3 Yorkies: Munchkin, Mia, and Milo. If you look at the top of blog in the header, I have pictures of Muffin and Munchkin. My fiance and I have been breeding Yorkies for about 5 years now, while my Fiance, Teresa, has worked with other breeders in the past. I’d say she has about 10 or so years total in Yorkie breeding. We currently breed as a hobby every now and then. I initially had no knowledge of breeding Yorkies. However, through the years, I’ve picked up quite a bit of knowledge. I’d actually say I’m more of a helper when it comes to breeding. But don’t get me wrong, I’m still quite knowledgeable in subject of dog health and care. At least I’d like to think I am.

Swankpets is an online luxury doggy boutique that offers cute and trendy clothing for little dogs. We offer products such as small dog clothes, small dog carriers, small dog beds, designer dog collars and more. Due to our love for Yorkies, we’ve specialized in products and apparel for smaller breed dogs. We first opened up shop in 2005, and are working hard to continually improve the shopping experience and keep up to date on the hottest styles and fashion.
