Maria Rocha and her family would never believe their eyes after their then 7 year old Yorkshire Terrier had gone missing for 4 years. After moving to another new house, the Rocha’s received a call from their old neighbor saying that their Yorkie who had been stolen 4 years ago was sitting on their doorstep!

Maria Rocha and her family have been overjoyed with the reappearance of their old family pet. Maria states that her Yorkie immediately recognized who she was, and seemed as if they were never separated. Although her Yorkie had suffered a broken paw and a cataract in one eye, Maria happily forked over the $1500 to correct the problems, Maria Rocha and family are now inseparable with their reunited family pet.

The tragedy started 4 years ago. Maria’s Yorkie was running around in the backyard trying to chase a cat when her dog suddenly got out. Unfortunately, her Yorkie did not have a leash and was soon dashing around in traffic. Maria then saw a car suddenly stop and open its door while her Yorkie hopped right in. The door closed and the car sped never to be seen again. The whole incident occurred so suddenly, nobody was able to get a license number. After several days of posting ads and searching, the Rochas had given up their search.

Luckily this story ends with a happy ending. No one knows how their Yorkie ended back on their doorstep after 4 years. Did the thief suddenly feel guilty and decide to return the pooch? Or was this a story of Old Yeller where her Yorkie traveled for miles to find its way back home? I guess no one will ever know except for that fortunate little Yorkie.
