Keep Your Dog Entertained with Small Dog Toys

October 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

There are tons of choices to pick from when it comes to find small dog toys. Yes, there is a difference between toys for large and small dogs. The answer is quite obvious, but just think about the size difference with their mouths. Small dog toys are meant for dogs with little mouths. Most of the small dog toys that Swankpets carries are plush small dog toys. We must have about 100 laying around the house. Actually, we have a toy pen that we keep all the toys in. We just need to train our dogs to put them back when they’re done! Anyhow, let’s take a look at some cute small dog toys that you can choose from.

When one thinks of dog toys, people usually come up with images of huge dog bones and thick ropes that one would usually find on a pirate ship. Well, our little babies do love bones and ropes, but they prefer the mini versions of such toys. However, the favorite small dog toy amongst our dogs and our customers have always been these soft plush small dog toys. I don’t know what it is about these little plush packages of fun, but dogs love them! They love to thrash them around, toss them in the air, and chew on them all day long. My Bichon LOVES to play tug of war with me. She runs to grab her favorite small dog toy, or when she’s feeling lazy, the closest one to her. Then, with the toy in her mouth and her cute little eyes staring at me, she entices me to play with her by pawing at my legs. She could tug for hours, but my arm usually gives out before she does. A small dog toy such as this one is great for playing tug of war.

Its cute, trendy, and your dog will love it. Why not play in style? I usually grab the purse handle while Muffin wraps her mouth around the purse. We then tug and play until I can’t play anymore. I do know about making it a point for ME to decide when to stop playing and not Muffin. However, I really haven’t seen a difference in dominance or anything like that. She still listens to me and is very obedient. So when I’m tired, we’re done!

The next toy is also great for pulling and tugging. This tugging small dog toy is great for long durations of pulling and tugging due to its ultra durability. I don’t think I’ve seen one dog tear this thing apart. Now keep in mind I’m talking about small dog here and not Rottweilers.

Or you can treat your dog to a pizza! Or course not a real pizza (even though that would probably be their dream) but this Wolfgang Pup Plush Small Dog Toy.
