Small Dogs: The Cure for Single Woman Lonliness   These days, it seems like more and more women are choosing to hold off on marriage.  20 or 30 years ago, it wasn’t uncommon to see couples getting married as soon they graduated high school.  It was normal for couples to do the whole marriage thing and start a family before the age of 23.  Nowadays, people gasp at the thought of getting married so young.  And they should with the divorce rate so high in the United States; couples should make absolutely sure that the person they marry will be a life long commitment.  So what happens to the millions of women that decide to remain single or suffer through a rough divorce?  Well, many find companionship and unconditional love from another source, their dogs.   Today, we see more and more single woman, or recently divorced woman buying dogs to fulfill a gap in their lives.  Being a breeder of Yorkies, a toy breed dog, I can vouch for this first hand.  These women are looking for someone to love, and to reciprocate that love.  They’re looking for a companion that they can share their love with, minus the tumultuous drama that go along with a boyfriend or a husband.  What better answer to these problems than a dog?  What other mammal, including humans, will exude overwhelming love, excitement and joy every time you come home from a long day’s work.  Who else will love you unconditionally no mater what, and I really mean no matter what happens between you two.  Only a dog can provide this sort of love, and that’s why we see more and more woman choosing a dog as their companion.   I mean, all a dog really wants is to be fed and loved.  A man just has too many other needs and emotions.  For example, you want to go shopping at the mall.  However, it’s football season, and there’s no way in hell that your man is going leave that couch, especially to go shopping.  As for Fido, they’re more than willing to go anywhere, as long as it’s with you!   This whole dog craze with women has actually started to form into a sort of lifestyle and trend amongst women, single or not.  Many women revolve their lives around their dogs, treating them like their own children, or even better in some cases!  We have one client that is planning on setting up an entire birthday party extravaganza that would make P. Diddy jealous.  She plans on have a privately catered party on a custom 150-ft yacht in Lake Havasu for her precious little Yorkie, Bella.  She is the perfect example of how a Yorkie rekindled a missing piece in her life.  Suffering an absolutely horrible divorce, Bella has brought a new love and joy to her life.  We are seeing that woman even incorporate their precious little dogs into their wardrobes on a daily basis.  If little Muffin isn’t matching Mommy, then its time to go shopping for a new set of small dog clothes.  Some people even take their dogs to the day spa with them.  Already popular in New York, we’re seeing day spas where both the owner and the dog can get massages along with a beauty treatment at the doggy salon next door.   Another major trend we are noticing is the large number of toy breed dogs popping up everywhere.  If anywhere, Hollywood is definitely a place one can see the influx of toy breed dogs.  The most famous is probably Star Celebutante and Socialite, Paris Hilton.  Her trusty sidekick, Nicole Richie is also no stranger to these little furry animals.  These two love dressing their dogs up so much, you’ll never find a picture where their dogs are not wearing small dog clothes.  But there’s also a practical side to these toy breed dogs other than the fun of dressing them in small dog clothes.  Toy breed dogs are easy to take care of, and best of all you can bring them almost everywhere you go.  Furthermore, the real estate boom over the last few years brought an abundance of high rise condos and apartments in many metropolitan areas.  The lack of living space made a toy breed dog an easy choice for many single women.   So if you’re a single woman, and just tired of the games and stress that men bring, why not join the already millions of satisfied dog owning woman.  Stop feeling depressed, and bring some joy back into your life with someone that you know will love you back.  Maybe dressing your dog up in small dog clothes is not your thing, but one fact is for sure.  You’ll never find another animal on this planet that can give you the unconditional love that a dog can provide.   For more information on toy breed dog care and lifestyles, please visit: www.swankpets.com
